A Week in Provence: What You’ll Experience at Our Retreats

Imagine waking up to the sound of birds chirping, the scent of lavender drifting through the open window, and the soft golden light of the Provençal countryside stretching before you.

At Maison d’Amies, this isn’t just a dream—it’s your reality for an entire week.

Our retreats are designed for women who crave a deeper, richer travel experience—one that prioritizes connection, relaxation, and cultural immersion. Here’s what you can expect during a week with us in Provence.

Day 1: Arrival & Welcome Dinner

Your journey begins as you arrive at our stunning retreat home, a traditional French estate nestled among rolling vineyards and sun-dappled olive groves. After settling into your beautifully appointed room, you’ll join your fellow travelers for a welcome aperitif and an elegant dinner prepared by a private chef. As the sun sets over the countryside, you’ll toast to new friendships and the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Market Day & French Cooking Experience

There’s no better way to experience Provence than by visiting its bustling open-air markets. You’ll wander through stalls overflowing with fresh produce, artisanal cheeses, and fragrant herbs, handpicking ingredients for our cooking workshop. Back at the retreat home, a local chef will guide you through preparing a classic Provençal meal, teaching you techniques you can take home. The day ends with a leisurely al fresco dinner, paired with local wines.

Day 3: A Day in the Vineyards

Provence is synonymous with wine, and today, you’ll experience it firsthand. We’ll visit a family-owned vineyard where the winemakers will take us on a private tour of their estate. You’ll learn about the region’s winemaking traditions, sample exquisite wines, and enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the vines. The afternoon offers time for relaxation—perhaps a swim, a nap, or a quiet moment with a book.

Day 4: Exploring Historic Villages & Artisanal Shopping

Provence is home to some of France’s most charming villages. We’ll spend the day strolling through cobblestone streets, browsing boutique shops, and soaking in the ambiance of centuries-old town squares. Along the way, we’ll visit an artisan’s workshop to see firsthand how traditional crafts are made. Whether it’s handwoven textiles, locally made ceramics, or lavender-infused skincare products, you’ll have plenty of unique souvenirs to bring home.

Day 5: A Day of Rest & Spa Indulgence

Midweek calls for a slower pace. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before indulging in an on-property massage, letting the tension melt away as you soak in the peaceful surroundings. Spend the afternoon however you choose—lounging with a book, wandering the nearby village, or taking a dip in the pool. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a beautifully crafted dinner showcasing regional flavors.

Day 6: A Final Taste of Provence

Our last full day is all about celebrating the flavors and beauty of Provence. The morning begins with a scenic drive to a breathtaking estate where we’ll enjoy a farewell brunch. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to revisit a favorite village, explore a hidden gem, or simply soak in the ambiance of the retreat home. Our final dinner is a candlelit affair, filled with laughter, heartfelt toasts, and reflections on a week well spent.

Day 7: Departure & Fond Farewells

As we say our goodbyes, you’ll leave with more than just beautiful photos and souvenirs—you’ll carry home the friendships, inspiration, and a newfound appreciation for slow, intentional travel.
